Omega-3 fatty acids are essential in oncological nutrition due to their immunomodulatory properties. This research, conducted as a critical review titled "Effect of Omega-3 Supplementation and Inflammatory Markers in Adults with Pancreatic Cancer," aimed to identify the effects of such supplementation on nutritional status and the inflammatory response. The clinical question addressed was: "What is the effect of omega-3 supplementation on inflammatory markers (IL1, IL-6, TNF-α) in adults with pancreatic cancer?" Following the Evidence-Based Nutrition (EBN) methodology, a systematic search was performed across SCOPUS, SCIENCE DIRECT, PUBMED, SCIELO, DIALNET, REDALYC, and MEDIGRAPHIC, yielding 19 articles. After evaluating 11 studies using the CASPe critical appraisal tool, the systematic review "Omega-3 Supplementation and Nutritional Status in Patients with Pancreatic Neoplasms: A Systematic Review" (Evidence Level AII and Strong Recommendation) was selected. The analysis concludes that administering 2 g of EPA/day is a significant clinical strategy in the nutritional support of pancreatic cancer to preserve muscle mass and reduce systemic inflammation. However, its efficacy is contingent upon early implementation, ensuring the correct dosage, and optimal patient therapeutic adherence.
