The objective of this research study is to determine the immunohistochemical profile for the diagnosis of breast cancer in patients treated at the Department of Pathology of the General Hospital of Jaén (Level II-II) between January and December 2025. This study employs a quantitative approach with a non-experimental, descriptive, and cross-sectional design. The target population consists of female patients aged 18 to 65 years diagnosed with breast cancer. The projected sample will comprise 360 histopathological reports that include immunohistochemical analyses. Data collection will be conducted using a structured and validated data collection form, designed in strict alignment with the study’s objectives, to record sociodemographic variables and molecular markers (ER, PR, HER2, and Ki-67). This project aims to establish the first epidemiological and molecular baseline for breast cancer in the province of Jaén. The resulting data will enable the identification of the prevalence of intrinsic subtypes (Luminal A, Luminal B, HER2-overexpressing, and Triple-Negative) in the region, serving as a scientific resource to optimize hospital management strategies, personalized treatment guidelines, and local public health policies.
