Capacidad funcional de pacientes con stroke asociado a la sobrecarga emocional de los cuidadores. Hospital de emergencia Villa Salvador, 2024

Abstract

Según la OMS en los últimos años a nivel internacional la tasa de mortalidad y discapacidad por stroke ha aumentado, en el Perú se le considera como la segunda causa de morbimortalidad, generando la perdida de funciones y la autonomía de la persona, afectando no solo el estado físico, sino también social y emocional . Otro factor a considerar seria el tiempo de espera para recibir rehabilitación en los hospitales, generando malestar no solo en las personas afectadas sino en sus cuidadores, por lo que podríamos considerar que la causa de la sobrecarga emocional de estos cuidadores se va generar principalmente por las discapacidades que genera el stroke. El objetivo de la investigación fue determinar la asociación entre la capacidad funcional de pacientes con stroke y la sobrecarga emocional de los cuidadores. La población fue de 30 pacientes con sus respectivos cuidadores que asistan al hospital de emergencia, tipo de investigación es no experimental, de diseño descriptivo, observacional correlacional. Los instrumentos que empleara son el indice de Barthel, el test de zarit y datos sociodemográficos. Los datos obtenidos se analizaran en un programa de Excel SPPS V.27 el cual nos ayudara a negar o confirmar la hipótesis de la investigación.

According to the WHO, the international mortality and disability rate from stroke has increased in recent years. In Peru, it is considered the second leading cause of morbidity and mortality, resulting in the loss of function and autonomy, affecting not only physical but also social and emotional health. Another factor to consider is the waiting time for rehabilitation in hospitals, which generates distress not only for those affected but also for their caregivers. Therefore, we could consider that the cause of these caregivers' emotional overload is primarily due to the disabilities caused by stroke. The objective of the research was to determine the association between the functional capacity of stroke patients and the emotional overload of caregivers. The population consisted of 30 patients with their respective caregivers who attended the emergency hospital. The research was non-experimental, with a descriptive, observational, and correlational design. The instruments used are the Barthel index, the Zarit test, and sociodemographic data. The data obtained will be analyzed using Excel SPPS V.27, which will help us refute or confirm the research hypothesis.
