Factores asociados a la prescripción e interacciones farmacológicas potenciales en pacientes de medicina interna del Hospital Hugo Pesce Pescetto, 2024

Abstract

El objetivo de esta investigación fue determinar los factores asociados a la prescripción e interacciones farmacológicas potenciales en pacientes de medicina interna del Hospital Hugo Pesce Pescetto, 2024. Método fue deductivo, diseño no experimental, corte transversal, nivel o alcance descriptivo, enfoque cuantitativo y tipo básica. La muestra estuvo constituida por 180 prescripciones que fueron analizadas mediante el comprobador de interacciones Drugs.com y la información obtenida se registró en una ficha de observación. Del resultado obtenido del total de prescripciones según el número de medicamentos, el 19,4% fueron de 2 a 3 medicamentos por prescripción, el 52,8% de 4 a 5 medicamentos, 21,7% de 6 a 7 medicamentos y 6,1% de 8 a 10 medicamentos. Según factor sociodemográfico, la interacción de gravedad mayor se observó en el 15,7% de las mujeres y el 11,4% de los hombres mayores de 60 años. Según la frecuencia, el 63,9% presentaba de 1 a 2 interacciones farmacológicas, el 23,3% de 2 a 5 interacciones, el 5,6% de 5 a 6 interacciones, y el 7,2% de 7 a 11 interacciones. Tipo de interacción, el 95,8% fueron de tipo farmacodinámica y el 4,2% farmacocinética. Medicamentos involucrados con mayor frecuencia de participación fueron omeprazol (9,9%), furosemida (6,8%). Según la gravedad de interacción, el 74,9% de las interacciones fueron de gravedad moderada, el 13% de gravedad mayor, el 9,5% de gravedad menor y el 2,2% contraindicadas. Se concluye que existen factores asociados a las prescripciones, los cuales son responsables de interacciones farmacológicas, siendo las personas adultas las más afectadas.

The objective of this research was to determine the factors associated with prescription and potential pharmacological interactions in internal medicine patients at the Hugo Pesce Pescetto Hospital, 2024. The method was deductive, non-experimental design, cross-sectional, descriptive level or scope, quantitative approach, and basic type. The sample consisted of 180 prescriptions, which were analyzed using the Drugs.com interaction checker, and the information obtained was recorded on an observation sheet. The results showed that, according to the number of medications in the prescriptions, 19.4% involved 2 to 3 medications per prescription, 52.8% involved 4 to 5 medications, 21.7% involved 6 to 7 medications, and 6.1% involved 8 to 10 medications. According to the sociodemographic factor, the most severe interactions were observed in 15.7% of women and 11.4% of men over 60 years old. According to frequency, 63.9% presented 1 to 2 pharmacological interactions, 23.3% had 2 to 5 interactions, 5.6% had 5 to 6 interactions, and 7.2% had 7 to 11 interactions. Regarding the type of interaction, 95.8% were pharmacodynamic and 4.2% pharmacokinetic. The most frequently involved medications were omeprazole (9.9%) and furosemide (6.8%). According to the severity of interactions, 74.9% were of moderate severity, 13.0% were of greater severity, 9.5% were of lesser severity, and 2.2% were contraindicated. It is concluded that there are factors associated with prescriptions that are responsible for drug interactions, with adults being the most affected.
