Artisanal activity constitutes one of the main cultural and economic expressions of the Ayacucho region; however, it faces limitations related to innovation, commercialization, and business formalization, factors that restrict its competitiveness and sustainability. In this context, the National Competitiveness and Productivity Policy seeks to promote favorable conditions for strengthening productive sectors through actions aimed at innovation, trade facilitation, and business formalization. Therefore, the objective of this research was to determine the relationship between the National Competitiveness and Productivity Policy and the management of artisanal activity among artisans affiliated with CITE Ayacucho during 2026. The study was conducted under a quantitative approach, applied research type, correlational level, and a non-experimental cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 2,800 artisans registered with CITE Ayacucho, and the sample comprised 338 artisans selected through non-probability convenience sampling. The survey technique was used, and data were collected through a structured questionnaire consisting of 27 items. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS version 26 and Spearman’s Rho non-parametric test. The results revealed a positive, moderate, and statistically significant relationship between the National Competitiveness and Productivity Policy and the management of artisanal activity (ρ = 0.596; p = 0.000). Likewise, a positive and significant relationship was found between innovation and the productive chain (ρ = 0.369; p = 0.000), between trade facilitation and socioeconomic development (ρ = 0.236; p = 0.000), and between business formalization and cultural sustainability (ρ = 0.426; p = 0.000). It is concluded that the National Competitiveness and Productivity Policy is significantly related to the management of artisanal activity, contributing to the strengthening of the productive chain, socioeconomic development, and cultural sustainability of artisans affiliated with CITE Ayacucho. Therefore, it constitutes a relevant instrument for promoting competitiveness and sustainable development within the artisanal sector.
