Relación entre el área laboral y el síndrome visual informático en pacientes del Hospital Augusto Hernández Mendoza, 2024

Abstract

Introducción: La presente investigación busca descubrir la relación entre el área laboral que usen medios tecnológicos y la presencia sintomatológica del Síndrome Visual Informático; al igual que orientar al trabajador sobre los medios adecuados para intervenir, prevenir y dar sugerencias sobre cómo tratar esta afección. Objetivos: Se planteó determinar la relación entre el SVI y el área laboral en pacientes atendidos en el Hospital Augusto Hernández Mendoza en un plazo de noviembre-diciembre del 2024. Metodología: Es un estudio transversal analítico; se eligió como instrumento de valoración la encuesta “CVS-Q”. Además, se empleó un enfoque cuantitativo para otorgar datos estadísticos al estudio. Resultados: Se estableció la presencia significativa (76.09%) del SVI y los instrumentos tecnológicos como un intermediario ocupacional; además de su exposición prolongada (más de 6 horas) como agente contribuyente a la patología. Teniendo como otro hallazgo importante, la presencia de Síndrome Visual Informático en pacientes con diagnóstico previo de miopía, arrojando un mayor porcentaje (85.71%) en comparación con otros indicadores especificados dentro del estudio. Como dato a recalcar; se evidenció mayor prevalencia de Síndrome Visual Informático en aquellos pacientes que tenían como ocupación el teletrabajo. Conclusiones: Se encontró una relevancia significativa entre el área laboral y el Síndrome Visual Informático, además de su asociación con factores ambientales, tecnológicos y oculares mencionados en el estudio; que conllevarían al creciente incremento de estos casos, evidenciando la importancia de proponer medidas preventivo-promocionales de salud ocular en aquellos pacientes expuestos a medios tecnológicos para prevenir o disminuir la clínica del Síndrome Visual Informático.

Introduction: This research seeks to discover the relationship between the work area that uses technological means and the symptomatic presence of Computer Vision Syndrome; as well as to guide the worker on the appropriate means to intervene, prevent and give suggestions on how to treat this condition. Objectives: It was proposed to determine the relationship between the SVI and the work area in patients treated at the Augusto Hernández Mendoza Hospital in a period of November-December 2024. Methodology: It is an analytical cross-sectional study; the "CVS-Q" survey was chosen as the assessment instrument. In addition, a quantitative approach was used to provide statistical data to the study. Results: The significant presence (76.09%) of the SVI and technological instruments as an occupational intermediary was established; in addition to its prolonged exposure (more than 6 hours) as a contributing agent to the pathology. Having as another important finding, the presence of Computer Vision Syndrome in patients with a previous diagnosis of myopia, showing a higher percentage (85.71%) compared to other indicators specified within the study. As additional data; a higher prevalence of Computer Vision Syndrome was evidenced in those patients who had teleworking as an occupation. Conclusions: A significant relevance was found between the work area and Computer Vision Syndrome, in addition to its association with environmental, technological and ocular factors mentioned in the study; which would lead to the growing increase of these cases; evidencing the importance of proposing preventive-promotional eye health measures in those patients exposed to technological means to prevent or reduce the clinical presentation of Computer Vision Syndrome.
