| es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | Objective: To determine the relationship between demographic data and adverse reactions in blood donors attended at a private hemotherapy center in Lima, 2025. Method: A quantitative, observational, retrospective, and cross-sectional study. The sample consisted of 159 donors (53 with adverse reactions and 106 without them) selected through simple random sampling. A data collection form was used, and the analysis was performed using Pearson's Chi-square, Student's t-test, and Mann-Whitney U tests, with a significance level of 5%. Results: It was identified that the group with adverse reactions was primarily composed of women (52.8%; p=0.011) and donors with a significantly lower mean age (36.2 ± 10.9 years; p=0.007) compared to the group without reactions. Likewise, a significant association was found with lower mean weight (73.8 ± 15.6 kg; p=0.040) and a lower median hematocrit (42.0%; p=0.005). On the contrary, marital status (p=0.811), height (p=0.210), hemoglobin levels (p=0.275), blood group (p=0.542), and baseline vital signs such as pulse (p=0.781), systolic blood pressure (p=0.348), and diastolic blood pressure (p=0.903) showed no statistically significant relationship with the occurrence of reactions. Conclusion: There is a relationship between demographic data and adverse reactions, where the characteristics of the young, female donor, with lower weight and lower hematocrit, define the composition of the affected group. | en_US |
