Influencia del edentulismo en la autoestima de los adultos mayores del centro de salud Clas Nuevo Lurín en el periodo de mayo a junio – Lima 2023

Abstract

El objetivo del estudio fue determinar la influencia del edentulismo en la autoestima de los adultos mayores del Centro de Salud Clas Nuevo Lurín en el periodo de mayo a junio – Lima 2023. El enfoque cuantitativo, tipo aplicada, no experimental, donde participaron 169 pacientes adultos mayores que acudieron al centro de salud mencionado. Las variables fueron edentulismo y autoestima en donde se aplicó la Escala de Rosenberg y el Odontograma respectivamente. Se determina la influencia del edentulismo en la autoestima baja con un valor de 73.96% en comparación con la autoestima media de 24.26% y la autoestima alta de 1.78%. Se encontró que respecto a la clasificación de Kennedy la categoría “Clase III” presentó la mayor frecuencia en autoestima baja con un valor de (25.44 %) a comparación de la “Clase II” con un valor de con (4.73%)” y “Clase I” y “IV” con (13.61%). Además, se observa que en el rango de edad de 81 años a más se observó con mayor frecuencia en autoestima baja con 29.59 %. Por último, se concluye que existe influencia del edentulismo en la autoestima de los adultos mayores del centro de Salud Clas Nuevo Lurín en el periodo de mayo a junio - Lima 2023.

The objective of the study was to determine the influence of edentulism on the self-esteem of older adults at the Clas Nuevo Lurin Health Center in the period from August to September - Lima 2023. The quantitative approach, applied, non-experimental, where 169 adult patients participated older people who attended the aforementioned health center. The variables were edentulism and self esteem where the Rosenberg Scale and the Odontogram were applied respectively. It was observed on low self-esteem was observed with a value of 73.96% compared to the average self-esteem of 24.26% and high self-esteem of 1.78%. It was found that with respect to Kennedy's classification, the “Class III” category presented the highest frequency of low self-esteem with a value of (25.44%) compared to “Class II” with a value of (4.73%)” and “Class I” and “IV” with (13.61%). Furthermore, it is observed that in the age range of 81 years and older, low self-esteem was observed more frequently with 29.59%. Finally, it is concluded that there is an influence between edentulism and self-esteem of older adults at the Clas Nuevo Lurín Health Center in the period from May to June - Lima 2023.
