Relación entre mordida cruzada posterior unilateral y hábitos bucales deletereos en niños de 3 a 5 años de edad en la provincia de Lima, Lima 2021

Abstract

El presente estudio buscó establecer la relación de mordida cruzada posterior unilateral y hábitos bucales deletéreos en niños de 3 a 5 años de edad en la provincia de Lima, Lima 2021. Se ejecuto una investigación cuantitativo, básica, descriptivo, transversal y prospectivo; habiéndose analizado 203 niños de 3 a 5 años que asisten al Centro Comercial “La Chacra de Cajamarquilla” en provincia de Lima; utilizando un cuestionario con preguntas cerradas y una ficha clínica, dieron resultados idóneos, las preguntas basadas en las medidas de la mordida cruzada posterior unilateral y los hábitos bucales deletéreos; se pudo evidenciar que 51 niños que tiene mordida cruzada posterior unilateral, 29 (56.9%) presentan el hábito de succión no nutritiva, 18 (35.3%) presentan respiración bucal, 27 (52.9%) presentan onicofagia y 5 (9.8%) presentan deglución atípica; no existe significancia estadística (p>0.05) mordida cruzada posterior unilateral y hábitos bucales deletéreos. Se concluye que no tiene vínculo entre la presencia de mordida cruzada posterior unilateral y hábitos bucales deletéreos en niños de 3 a 5 años en la provincia de Lima, Lima 2021.

The present study sought to establish the relationship between unilateral posterior crossbite and deleterious oral habits in children aged 3 to 5 years in the province of Lima, Lima 2021. A quantitative, basic, descriptive, cross-sectional and prospective research was carried out; having analyzed 203 children aged 3 to 5 years who attend the "La Chacra de Cajamarquilla" Shopping Center in the province of Lima; using a questionnaire with closed questions and a clinical record, the questions based on the measurements of unilateral posterior crossbite and deleterious oral habits gave ideal results; it was shown that 51 children with unilateral posterior crossbite, 29 (56.9%) have the habit of non-nutritive sucking, 18 (35.3%) have mouth breathing, 27 (52.9%) have onychophagia and 5 (9.8%) have atypical swallowing; There is no statistical significance (p>0.05) between unilateral posterior crossbite and deleterious oral habits. It is concluded that there is no link between the presence of unilateral posterior crossbite and deleterious oral habits in children aged 3 to 5 years in the province of Lima, Lima 2021.
